What's New

  • Support for the new 3WAVES boards. They switch to the "3 Elec. Ungrounded" mode on their own when connected.
  • Built-in X-Plane 12 profile. Select "X-Plane" in the input list, then in X-Plane send Data Output row 16 (angular velocities) over the network to 127.0.0.1, port 49023.
  • Stimulation peak sliders now show the total current across both electrodes, up to 2.5 mA. Up to 2.0 mA is the normal range; 2.0 to 2.5 mA is for pushing the sensation and shows red. The default peak is now 1.6 mA.
  • If you saved a profile on an earlier version, re-check your stimulation levels before a session. Saved peaks now read as totals, so they deliver less current than before.
  • The 3D plane and head models are off by default on new installs.
  • The wave generator now offers sine, square, triangle and sawtooth, and holds a steady 300 Hz while running.
  • The Hardware Status panel shows each electrode's role as reported by the board.
  • Boards on firmware 1.1.5 no longer overrun the serial port at high write rates.

What's New

  • Remote start and stop. Another computer can start and stop stimulation over its own UDP port and get ON or OFF back once the change has taken effect. It is off by default; turn it on under Settings > Input Control > UDP Command Port and list the computers allowed to send commands.
  • The input status now shows "Dropping Frames" in red when incoming data has no usable timestamp, instead of failing without any sign.
  • This release needs Software Manager 2.2. Download it from the downloads page and run it in place of your current one.
  • Starting stimulation while it is stopping no longer interrupts the ramp to zero.

  • CIGI input now reads aircraft orientation from the simulator's CIGI stream by Entity ID, so ships, targeting pods, and other entities in the feed no longer confuse the parser
  • New "Ownship Entity ID" field under Input Formatting → Axis Order (defaults to 0, the CIGI standard)
  • CIGI input profile now listens on port 6000 by default, matching the standard IG relay setup
  • Byte-offset fields grey out automatically when CIGI is enabled, so irrelevant controls don't confuse the setup
  • Existing input profiles (MSFS, Prepar3D, etc.) are preserved exactly as before

Step-by-step instructions for getting started

Online Installation (Recommended)

  1. Download the Software Manager using the download button above.
  2. Run 3WavesSoftwareManager.exe to launch the installer.
  3. Software Manager checks for the latest version online and shows available updates.
  4. Downloads and installs 3WAVES automatically with no manual file transfers needed.
Tip: All future updates will notify you through the 3WAVES program.

Offline / Ghost Installation

New Installation:

  1. Download the Software Manager and an Install Package from the Updates & Releases section.
  2. Transfer both files to your air-gapped system via USB drive or other secure method.
  3. Run the Software Manager and select "Install from local package".
  4. Browse to the Install Package and follow the prompts to install.

Updating an Existing Installation:

  1. Download an Update Package from the Updates & Releases section.
  2. Transfer the Update Package to your air-gapped system.
  3. Run the Software Manager (already installed) and select "Install from local package".
  4. Browse to the Update Package and follow the prompts to update.
Note: Ghost edition has no online connectivity whatsoever. It is designed for secure, air-gapped environments with strict network isolation requirements.
